Leopold Franz Kowalski (1856-1931) was an French-born German painter, known for his canvases depicting genre scenes, figures and landscapes. Kowalsky was a pupil of Jean Pillard and Henri Lehmann at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He exhibited regularly in Paris from 1881 at the Salon des Artistes Français.
