Sculpted Sole: Novelty Metal Boot with Industrial Markings
A unique vintage metal boot sculpture modeled in the form of a desert boot, cast in silvered metal with remarkable detail replicating the texture, stitching, sole, and lace eyelets of a real shoe. The boot retains its industrial, utilitarian character, giving it the appearance of a foundry or workshop casting. Stamped “Dora” to the underside, the piece was produced by Dora Foundry (France, mid-20th century), a workshop known for its high-quality metal castings, decorative objects, and novelty items. Its solid weight and crisp detail suggest it may have been conceived as a decorative object, possibly for use as a shop display, conversation piece, or whimsical paperweight. The interior shows traces of oxidation consistent with age.
