Miao Tribe Silver Necklace with Coiled Rings with Center Medallion
An impressive traditional Miao silver pectoral necklace, hand-forged from coiled silver wire with a large central spiral medallion. The rigid collar form is composed of thick, tightly wound wire loops, creating a bold, architectural silhouette, and is anchored at the front by a suspended circular pendant formed from a continuous spiral of silver, symbolizing longevity and continuity in Miao culture. Such pectorals were worn during important festivals and ceremonies as emblems of status, wealth, and cultural identity. Likely mid–20th century or earlier. Silver metal.
