Medium 19th-Century Spanish Fajalauza Lebrillo, Granada (20.5″ Diameter)

A 19th-century Spanish Fajalauza lebrillo from Granada, measuring 20.5 inches in diameter. A lebrillo is a wide ceramic bowl with a pronounced rim, first produced in Andalusia in the 15th century and traditionally decorated in green and white with a terracotta rim. These bowls were essential all-purpose household objects, used for laundry, food preparation, and bathing children, and were made in eight different sizes according to their function.
Fajalauza lebrillos were valued possessions, often passed down through generations and repaired rather than discarded; damage was traditionally mended by a specialist lañador using molten tin, repairs now prized by collectors. This example is in good overall condition, with slight fading to the decoration consistent with age. The forged metal display stand is included in the price.
